A leading Re-Insurance business that prides themselves on having a modern approach with traditional values, inspire innovation and out the box thinking. Everyone is expected to have opinions to support the delivery of key initiatives and drive solutions to complex problems.
The client is now looking for a new Project Manager / Business Analyst to support the business through a number of key changes from system reviews to process improvements. They have a very small IT team so have little support in the project space, hence the need for this person to join the business. You will work very closely with the business stakeholders to support the delivery of projects and drive innovation in technology.
The successful person will report directly into the board and be responsible for supporting and directing them through the delivery of IT change initiatives from ad hoc small change requests to front to back changes of bespoke legacy systems for the reinsurance technologies. Examples include:
- Improvement of current claims systems and reduce the number being used whilst still providing the same function
- Review of current underwriting systems and improving processes and automation
- Delivery of a new data governance programme and improving various processes and accountability's/ownership
- Looking at ways to improve how they take new products to market
As well as driving projects forward and encouraging innovation, you will also be responsible for engaging with the business and help initiate idea's and new ways of working. Whether it's improving a process or looking at new technologies, you will be the key driver in pushing through idea's and executing projects - not just strategy generation.
You will be managing multiple projects at once and engaging with the business to find out what their needs are and translating these problems into projects. From day one you will need to find out what needs to be done and what the pain points are for various Stakeholders and support them throughout the change process.
To be successful in this role you will need to fresh, innovative ideas and be a natural problem solver. You will be hungry for change and a driver in pushing out the box thinking and the ability to lead idea generation sessions to look for improvements across various systems and processes.
Ideally you will have a strong education from either a red brick or Russell group university and then spent some time with a Consultancy (Big 4 or Niche) before moving into Industry. Having worked for a Insurance or Re-Insurance firm is key and used to dealing small but complex problems. It's of the up most importance that you have first class questioning skills, very inquisitive and used to pushing the norm.
