Middle Office Operations Office - International Clearing House
The department within this client's office is responsible for clearing Credit Default Swaps on European and US indices and Single Names as well as Options for the members and clients currently registered for the service with LCH.
The Service is one of the fastest growing streams among the client's business business lines and is looking to build on recent successes to further increase market share, in both European and US markets, as well as increasing the type of products offered for clearing through the service.
This role is for an experienced Middle-Office Officer to join the Operations Department to be responsible for daily operational trade management activities, effectively supporting members and clients with a commercial mindset, and to maintain, secure and develop a strong Operational Risk and control environment. It consists as well in contributing to change activity through contribution to requirements as well as testing of new features and functionalities.
The management & monitoring on day to day basis of all trade lifecyle events and activities impacting trades including backloading, novation, credit events, succession events, compression transfers and default management.
Establish a testing plan across internal and external facing test environments.
The Middle-Office Officer has to pro-actively take initiatives and decisions for remediating and fixing production issues
The Middle-Office Officer will work with his team members building strong relationships with business partners (DTCC, Markit & Unavista)
Provide state-of-art service and professional support to members and clients in their daily activities with a strong commercial mindset.
Develop the client clearing business & flows: ensure members and clients get an outstanding experience interacting with LCH and high-standard service levels
Develop and maintain a strong operational control environment, performing daily/weekly/adhoc controls and ensuring timely resolution, remediation or escalation of exceptions & issues
Ensure documentation (procedures & user guides) and audit trails are produced and kept up to date. Follow up and implementation of audit recommendations (operational risk control & compliance)
The service delivery and business development which cover:
- The implementation of new clearing releases on test & production environments
- Ensure that operational needs/requirements are appropriately captured for production monitoring
- Work with other departments (Project, IT, business, etc) and external stakeholders (infrastructure providers) to determine and agree tasks, plans and responsibilities for activities
Regularly identify ways to improve departmental processes and policies and define and implement change in line with the business plan in order to fulfil departmental objectives and business requirements more efficiently and effectively
Candidate Profile / Key Skills
Knowledge of the financial markets and Credit Derivatives
Experience in Middle-Office or Back-Office
Fluent in English (professional level). Spoken and written.
Shift times are required to cover the client service from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm CET.
Ability to interact with clients at all levels.
Ability to work independently and autonomously
Credit derivative knowledge relevant to trade life cycle.
