Twenty Financial Services are currently recruiting for a MI Developer - Risk Analyst for a Tier 1 Bank in London

Sitting within the Risk function, the person hired will be accountable for the delivery of Credit Risk Information to the wider business through investigating, extracting, and presenting data using SQL Teradata coding skills.


  • Gathering specific requirements from senior stakeholders; extract data from different areas of the risk department using Teradata SQL coding skills; building credit risk reports from scratch to present back to the business
  • Manage logical methods for testing solutions against these specifications (use case, test scenarios and scripts)
  • Providing backfill development support for the wider development team subject matter experts
  • Working closely with teams such as IT, SME's, solution architects, Project BA's and managers; stakeholders will include a range of IT and Credit Risk experts
  • BAU work, involving close liaison with Business Analysts, development reporting teams and the wider team itself
  • Application of regulatory knowledge across all processes in order to determine whether they are compliant
  • Ability to identify potential weaknesses in processes and suggest areas of improvement

Essential Key Skills

  • Advanced Teradata SQL coding skills; ability to code to a high level in SQL and extract data from a Teradata system
  • Building reports from scratch; understanding of development life cycles
  • Experience with VBA is desired, but not essential
  • Relevant Management Information (MI) experience
  • Good regulatory knowledge in order to identify compliance of processes
  • Experience and demonstrated understanding of risk management techniques, preferably from a financial services institution; previous involvement in a Risk Reporting or Analytics role
  • Stakeholder management skills: ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and produce specific reports based on these; ability to suggest areas of improvements as well as limitations; challenge opinions of stakeholders in order to come to a conclusion
  • Highly analytical mind-set; ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
