Linux Engineer (Linux, System, Python, Bash) - Hedge Fund - London

The Role:
A leading Hedge Fund are looking for a talented and experienced System Engineer to join their current team of four. Who have the passion for technology and interested in working on trading systems to assist in design (from scratch), build, maintenance, and support of the technology needs.

You will gain exposure to both Linux systems and network engineering project work, plus an opportunity to work with and trial out the latest technologies in your space. Furthermore, you can expect to be part of and contribute to major infrastructure and engineering decisions as the company grows.

Key responsibilities:

  • Engineering the next generation of computer platforms
  • Designing and implementing the distributed systems that are necessary for systems management and the automation of hardware evaluation, provisioning, build and life-cycle management
  • Providing subject matter expertise with low-level tuning of operating systems
  • Work closely with the network, storage, cloud, and build engineers to deliver a friction-less server environment

About You:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or any related top (From a Top 30 University is always of interest)
  • Linux system Experience
  • Scripting: Python, Bash, Ruby, GO, Shell, Python (at least 1 to a proficient level) and ideally some experience with configuration management such as Puppet or Salt
  • You are interested in DevOps practices and have a passion for automation

Upwards of £100,000 Basic (depending on experience) + Bonus
