Java Bloomberg Integration Developer - London - Fixed Income

A global Investment Bank are looking to hire a Java Integration Developer to work within their Fixed Income space. The role will involve integrating with Bloomberg for pricing contributions, trading and STP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of server and client side Javacomponents
  • Implement business requirements whilst following the groups established quality standards
  • Be a champion for software testing, maintainable code and best practices
  • Build desktop application and associated server component using Java FX, Swing and core Java technologies
  • Further develop components built upon vendor and open source products
  • Provide support for systems developed within the team, thoroughly explaining and documenting support procedures

Skills and experience:

  • Strong Java development skills (ideally some Swing and /OR JavaFX)
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg TOMS, MPF and AEP
  • SQL experience, preferable MS SQL Server
  • Front Office Investment banking experience
  • Proven experience working globally with distributed software teams
  • Good understanding of object oriented methodologies, design patterns and best practice
  • Experience developing multi-threaded, low latency applications
  • Good knowledge of test driven development and experience using agile development practices
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Fixed Income financial knowledge
  • A working knowledge of ION Trading Marketview platform
  • Bloomberg integration experience
  • Business facing skills and previous experience dealing with Front Office
  • A working knowledge of fixed income pricing methodologies
