Job Description

A FinTech Lending business with its HQ in Berlin are looking for a CRO / Head of Credit Risk & Lending Maternity Cover to join the business for 12 months initially. The business is rapidly growing since its inception 6 years ago and this person will play a key role in leading the organisation, alongside the other C-Suite.

Responsibilities

  • You will define and lead the end of end customer lending process with a focus on digitalising the credit process – from financial and business analysis, structuring and negotiation of loan and security documentation, authorization, customer management and collection - and define appropriate risk mitigation policies.
  • You will be actively involved in the refinancing of the customer portfolio and you will ensure compliance and adherence with the documentation.  
  • You will play an integral part in developing new financing products and advise on these from a risk perspective.
  • You will play a vital role when working with other business units including sales, finance, operations, and tech and play an integral part in developing and shaping the strategy of the company.
  • You will hire, develop and grow the Risk and Legal team, managing a team of 3

Requirements

  • You have at least 8 years of work experience in the finance industry, in investment or commercial banking/lending, invoice financing or with a credit rating agency.
  • You have experience with developing and setting credit underwriting processes, ideally based on traditional data, as well as non-traditional information and analysing financial statements.
  • You have strong analytical and decision-making skills and a structured and detail-oriented working style.
  • You have experience in leading small teams and provide coaching to more junior people.
  • You have an affinity to tech, and you enjoy keeping up to date with the latest development in underwriting technologies
  • Ability and strong interest to work in a fast-paced, international team-oriented start-up environment, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communications skills with fluency in English
