Job Description

An exciting lifestyle start-up company are looking to hire a commercial finance manager into their rapidly growing finance team. This start-up is young, passionate and innovative; and having launched the biggest crowdfunding campaign for their multi-million-pound market, have a huge and forever growing customer base. The company is going from strength to strength, winning awards and hitting annual revenue targets to now launching new product ranges and expanding.

THE JOB

Specifically your responsibilities will include:

  • An integral part of an early stage start-up, providing fantastic opportunities to grow, with tangible impacts on all areas not just finance
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager, building management reporting and variance analysis, providing clear and concise business oversight to the company founders
  • Develop and maintain financial controls, work with Deloitte to bring their monthly accounting processes in house
  • Work with the COO to build cross border team processes
  • Preparation of the monthly cost of sales, calculations for each revenue stream so the Senior Finance Manager can easily review
  • Liaise with logistics and understand any inconsistencies/variances in the data

YOU

To be considered for this job, you will have the following experience:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 1 or 2 years post qualified experience
  • Understand the nuances that come with working in a start up environment
  • Adaptability and understand the need to wear a number of different hats
  • Monthly accounting processes and preparing financial results, full reconciliation, month ends and payroll adjustments
  • Commercial acumen, experience in a business partnering style finance role
  • VAT knowledge
  • Takes initiative and also ownership of tasks and projects
  • Excited to be within an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment and face new challenges as the business continues to grow
  • Experience using Xero accounting software (nice to have)
